Pump coach
Pump coach in Foilbench: a dedicated page at /coach — link Pump coach in the simulation header.
It answers: How efficiently am I pumping this setup — and what can I change?
Pump score
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 0–100 | Efficiency vs. simulated optimum (100 = minimum pump power needed) |
| Grade | Excellent / good / fair / needs work |
If the setup cannot sustain pumping, there is no score — check trim and setup first.
Deviations
Four parameters vs. optimum:
- Frequency (Hz)
- Leg amplitude (m)
- Pitch amplitude (°)
- Pitch phase (°)
Bars and status (optimal / medium / high) show where the biggest lever is.
Tips
Up to three tips, sorted by expected score gain. Apply changes one parameter — the page recalculates.
Optimise applies all optimum values at once (like “Find best operating point” on the main page, plus phase scan).
Load time
The coach page runs an optimum search in the background (~5–15 seconds). A loading hint appears until score and tips are ready.
